➡️ Do you remember the first moment when you thought you’d like to work in IT?
My journey into IT began in my first job after university. At the time, I was testing new system functionalities and delivering training sessions for users. Whenever something stopped working during a presentation, I had to learn the magic happening “behind the scenes” to handle the situation professionally. That was when I discovered how fascinating the world of application development and data management really is.
➡️ What do you do on a daily basis at PAYBACK?
I’m the Team Lead of the Data Engineering team. Together, we ensure that the data flowing into our systems is properly processed, integrated, and prepared for use by other business teams, helping them make informed decisions and support their day-to-day operations.
➡️ Which skills are the most important in your job today?
I used to think that technology was the most important thing. Today, I know that understanding the business and how data will be used is just as crucial. It is the combination of these two perspectives that truly drives success.
At the moment, we are migrating data and processes from Oracle to Google Cloud Platform, working with technologies such as SQL, BigQuery, Python, CI/CD, and Datadog. Looking back, the biggest realization for me has been that there is always a suitable technological solution, as long as the business problem is clearly defined. After working on several migration projects, learning a new technology becomes much easier.
