➡️ What do you enjoy most about working in IT?
The greatest satisfaction comes from seeing a solution that initially existed only as an idea or a technical challenge become part of another team’s daily work and genuinely help them make better decisions or solve problems.
One example was a mechanism that controls the execution of our pipelines based on the quality of source data. Since we do not have direct control over all data sources, we wanted to detect potential issues more quickly and reduce the impact of low-quality data on reporting. As a result, we improved the quality of the delivered data and increased visibility into potential problems.
➡️ What surprised you the most after moving into IT?
Coming from a scientific background, what surprised me most was the importance of collaboration.
My experience in academia required a great deal of independence. In IT, I discovered that the real strength lies in teamwork: exchanging ideas, solving problems together, and benefiting from different perspectives.
➡️ Which PAYBACK project are you most proud of?
One particularly important project for me was implementing monitoring for our product using the Datadog platform, which enables us to observe system performance, analyze metrics, and respond more quickly to potential issues.
This experience showed me how important it is to build solutions that not only work, but can also monitor their own quality and reliability. Thanks to this, we are able to deliver more trustworthy data to our stakeholders.
➡️ What advice would you give to women considering a career in IT?
Don’t wait for the moment when you feel like you know everything. That moment will probably never come. In IT, new technologies emerge constantly, and everyone, regardless of experience, is always learning. Just take the first step and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Curiosity and a willingness to grow are far more important than having perfect knowledge from the start.

Try new things. Growth in IT comes from stepping beyond what we already know. Even if not everything works out right away, every attempt gives you valuable experience that will pay off in the future.
