Role Description:

As a Senior Java Developer at PAYBACK, you can use your in-depth software engineering know-how to design and implement new functionalities and features. You will work in the international environment daily together with the team (software engineers, QAs, architects, SREs, AppSupports). We implement and maintain a highly scalable backend platform all PAYBACK international markets (Italy, Mexico, Austria, Poland). The platform is currently based on a hybrid architecture. On the one hand there is our monolith implemented as a classic JEE application deployed in Oracle Weblogic containers. Within the monolith we are heavily using EJB, CDI and Hibernate. On the other hand we have Microservices based on Spring Boot.

Your responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing our platform.
  • Actively participate in entire development cycle (from concept to delivery).
  • Work closely with QA team members.
  • Maintaining, enhance and improve our platform.
  • Create unit tests for every new feature.
  • Code review for other team members.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years professional experience in software development.
  • Experience with GCP or willingness to learn.
  • Agile Mindset / Clean Coder.
  • Working self-organized and taking ownership.
  • Team Player with very good communication skills and very good English (written/spoken), German optional but welcome.
  • Knowledge of Software Engineering Skills & Tools: Must have: Java SE 11+, Java EE, EJB 3.1, Hibernate, Weblogic, Oracle, SQL, Spring Boot 2, Miscroservice Architecture, Junit, Mockito, SoapUI, IntelliJ, Maven, Jenkins, GIT.
  • Knowledge of Software Engineering Skills & Tools: Nice to have: Experience with CI/CD tools, Ansible, OpenShift, ELK, Kafka, NoSQL.
